The future is pretty bright for Kate Middleton because the longer she remains William’s wife, the closer to being Queen Consort of England she becomes. Queen Elizabeth II is already into her 90s, and for years there’s been speculation that she will stand down before too long to let her son, Charles, become King. After that, it’s only a matter of time before William is King, and Kate is his Queen Consort. Not bad for a girl from a middle-class family, eh? This is what her life will likely be like when she assumes her new role.

She might not have known it was happening at the time, but when Kate was dating William, his family was having conversations about her. Since he was born, Prince William has been the future King, and so any partner he had would need to be approved by the Royal Family.
After all, they couldn’t have just anybody sitting alongside him on the throne. In the future, she will have similar discussions. William and Kate will no doubt have conversations about the partners their children are dating to decide if they are appropriate or not, especially for George – a future king himself.
