What is the cast of Game of Thrones up to now that the show ended

Game of Thrones was a phenomenon. Smashing viewing figures, pushing boundaries, and turning its stars into household names. Even with a polarizing final season, the legacy of the show remains one of the strongest in all of television. So, it is interesting to look at what these star names have in the pipeline now they are free from the shackles of Westeros and Essos.

Some of the cast emerge as they began; under the radar character actors who will continue to enjoy interesting supporting roles (Conleth Hill), while others have gone on to become massive global stars (Emilia Clarke). Let’s take a look at what some of the cast have got planned now winter has finally come and gone. After all, when you play the Game of Thrones, you win, or you die. Then you call your agent and ask them to get you another hit series!

The cast of Game of Thrones

Kit Harington

Arguably the breakout star of the series in the role of ostensible lead, Jon Snow. The 998th Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch has been good to Kit Harington, but what next for the floppy-haired thesp? Well, Harington has recently provided the voice of Eret in the latest How to Train Your Dragon movie, and he’s been doing plenty of theatre work. He also got married to actress Rose Leslie last year, so things have been slow. Basically, in a strange twist of irony, it’s we who know nothing when it comes to the future of Jon Snow!

Emilia Clarke

Since rising to fame in Game of Thrones, Clarke has popped up in the Star Wars franchise, playing the role of Qi’Ra in Solo: A Star Wars Story, as well as the Terminator franchise, where she portrayed Sarah Connor in Terminator Genisys. Lined up she has a movie called Above Suspicion, as well as, we assume, some theatre work too. Clarke has also been working as the face of Dolce & Gabbana on their latest ad campaign.

Peter Dinklage

Everyone’s favorite dwarf Tyrion Lannister managed to survive the entire run of GoT, pretty impressive when you consider what he went through. Actor Peter Dinklage received near-unanimous critical acclaim for portraying the imp, with the American scooping 3 Primetime Emmys for his performance. Post-Thrones Dinklage has two voice roles coming up, on in Angry Birds 2, and the other in The Croods. His IMDB account lists two movies called The Dwarf, and The Thicket as being in pre-production, so watch this space.

The cast of Game of Thrones

Sophie Turner

We watched Turner evolve with Sansa into a strong, confident, yet damaged young woman. Well, 2019 looks to be a big year for the flame-haired Turner, which began with the release of X-Men: Dark Phoenix. She will also star in the upcoming movies Girl Who Fell From the Sky and Broken Soldier, and Heavy. What’s more, she married a Jonas Brother on May 1st of this year as well!

These are just a few tidbits looking at the lives and careers of some of the Game of Thrones cast, and what we could or should expect from them now that the show has finished. Many of them will go on to play other iconic roles and star in other franchises, but it is clear that they will be hard-pressed to escape their roles in a show of such importance and popularity.
